We're just two friends talking about whatever they want, turning it into a podcast. Things usually get geeky. Tech, movies, TV, gaming; we cover it all.
Time for me to eat some crow. I know I said I would never have more than one streaming video service; but when that second service comes with music and free shipping, well...
This year's Fall TV season is bursting with comic book properties; including Arrow, Gotham, and The Flash (to name a few). So are any of them any good? Funny you should ask...
No social media site is perfect; but Dan has finally reached his limit with Facebook. And it looks like Twitter may be headed in a bad direction as well...
We're a couple nerds. You know this about us. So of course we did a whole show on conventions, namely E3 2014 (we were gonna talk about Denver Comic Con too, but ran outta time). Also, is Facebook listening to everything you do?
The Barenaked Ladies once sang "Buy buy buy buy, sell sell sell, how well you've learned to not discern who's foe and who is friend, we'll own them all in the end." Turns out, that's pretty much happening.
Not more than two days after we did last weeks show, news came out that HBO programming would be available on Amazon Prime. So we picked up with that this week. Also, we had a chuckle about excavators finding "E.T." in a landfill. Enjoy!
SHOW NOTES:
The technological advancements we've made in TV, movie and video game delivery is astounding. I remember growing when CDs and DVDs were starting to become the standards for how content was delivered. "What will they think of next?" The answer, was delivering the content on literally nothing. We pull this stuff out of thin air these days, and I love it. I am a huge advocate for digital downloading, and I am convinced it is the future. However, this one colossal downside is ruing everything for me...
Hope you had a great Easter...or fertility festival...or generic Sunday!
We joked briefly last week about curved TV's, and it spawned an entire episode about home entertainment tech: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Enjoy the episode, in all it multi-format glory (i.e. YouTube version above and high-quality audio-only version below).
Also, a reminder: we do the show LIVE on Google Hangouts On-Air nowadays, so add me on Google+ to see when we'll be broadcasting. :) SHOW NOTES:
Netflix May Raise Prices: http://bit.ly/QwE7I6
These days, it's possible to see just about any TV show or movie there is without ever ordering cable, or in most cases, leaving your home. Just subscribing to one of the three main services (Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime) should hold you over for a very long time if you're looking for something to watch.
What's the one awful thing about all of these companies...?
It's time for the triumphant return of the Drew & Dan Digress podcast!
A lot's happened in the last six months (good lord, that's a long time), and we were forced to put the podcast on the back burner while life sorted itself out. But now we're back, and here to stay!
And as a nifty new feature, you can now enjoy the episode in multiple ways! Either in video form (above) or high quality audio-only (below).
